We offer flexible work, competitive pay, and an opportunity to bring people together.
What are you waiting for?
We're in the business of bringing people together. Catamaran knows that AI translation only gets us halfway there. We're on a mission to fulfill the dream Nelson Mandela set out for us.
"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart."
We pay our teachers a competitive market rate depending on the language. The rate is dependent on the number of available teachers, the overall demand for the language, and how long a teacher has been with Catamaran. We try to choose a few teachers who will be with us for a long time, and pay them very well.
Catamaran employs all of its teachers as contractors. We use a third-party service that handles all payment processing and teachers can choose how to get paid, either through bank deposit, Paypal, or almost any payment service available in the countries we serve.
Yes. Most Catamaran teaching opportunities are part to full time contract positions where you can choose the number of hours you work.
Yes. We require all teachers to be native language speakers. This helps us maintain a high degree of authenticity for the languages we offer.
Yes. Catamaran is designed to provide an authentic and natural interaction between teacher and student. Part of learning a language is watching how native speakers pronounce certain words, and so we require all Catamaran teachers to show their face on camera.
Catamaran creates all the content required for its videos. This includes the stories, images, and script. However, Catamaran teachers are free to improvise and tell the story in whatever way feels natural.
